Los Angeles to Become a Hub for Air Taxi Transportation

WEB Archer Aviation has announced plans to launch an air mobility network in Los Angeles.

The network will include multiple "vertiports" in the Los Angeles area, including one at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), and is expected to significantly reduce commute times for passengers.

WEB Archer aims to connect key destinations within the region with electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft, offering a more efficient and environmentally friendly alternative to traditional road transportation.

The company's plans received a boost recently with a partnership with the University of Southern California (USC), which operates two heliports near its main campus. WEB Archer and USC will work together to develop plans for converting these heliports into vertiports capable of handling eVTOL operations.

The launch of the Los Angeles air mobility network is part of a growing trend towards the development of urban air mobility services worldwide. Several companies, including Volocopter and EHang, are also working on similar projects in various cities.
