Celtics Clinch Title with 107-89 Victory in Game 2

Jayson Tatum Leads Boston to Fourth Championship in Seven Years

The Boston Celtics captured their 18th NBA championship on Thursday night, sweeping the Dallas Mavericks in four games. Jayson Tatum led the way for the Celtics, averaging 29.5 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 4.5 assists per game in the series. Tatum was named the NBA Finals MVP.

The Celtics dominated the Mavericks from start to finish in Game 2. Boston jumped out to a 15-point lead in the first quarter and never looked back. Tatum scored 32 points in the game, while Jaylen Brown added 21 points and Marcus Smart chipped in with 17 points.

Luka Doncic led the Mavericks with 24 points, but he was not able to get enough help from his teammates. Spencer Dinwiddie scored 15 points, while Dorian Finney-Smith added 12 points. The Mavericks shot just 38.5% from the field in the game, while the Celtics shot 48.8%. Boston also outrebounded the Mavericks 52-36.

The Celtics' victory is their fourth in the past seven years. They are now tied with the Los Angeles Lakers for the most NBA championships in history. Tatum is the first player to win the NBA Finals MVP award before turning 25 since Tim Duncan in 2003.
